My work is an unfolding exploration of whimsical and surreal subject matter. Not restricted to any singular medium, I utilize 2D and 3D artmaking processes such as oil and acrylic paint, mixed media, and sculpture to depict a variety of forms. Through human figures, teeth, cathedral imagery, orchids, animals and creatures, each piece takes on its own unique narrative. 

In my 2D works, transcendent scenes are created by multifaceted and complex elements. In my 3D works, imaginative imagery becomes tangible. Each new piece is a new experience. The discovery of new subject matter and mediums is in part driven by my career as an art educator. I find fulfillment in being an intentional learner of art media, so that I can be a well rounded teacher for my future students. 

The works I create are detailed, saturated, and layered. Each is the manifestation of curiosity, inspired by archetypes and memory. It all embodies two very bold aspects of myself, the curious and the contemplative. Within each work, both partition space, and both find equilibrium.
